About Premature Ejaculation (PE)

One out of three men experience some degree of premature ejaculation in his lifetime.

30% of men of all age groups suffer from PE. Only a small fraction of men with PE talk with their doctor about it.

What is Premature Ejaculation?

  • Lack of control over the ejaculatory reflex.
  • Occurs before or after penetration.
  • Inability to recognize and moderate the grade of sexual arousal

Can Premature Ejaculation be treated?

PE can be treated successfully through prescription medication, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (Sexual Training), or a combination of both.

Sexual Training is the behavioral modification of maladaptive sexual responses.

Some men may notice immediate results, but for many it may take some time.

Sexual Training is the behavioral modification of maladaptive sexual responses.

  • Exercises to control ejaculation are taught and counseled by one of our sex counselors.
  • Prescribed medication by a doctor may aid and control the level of arousal to prevent premature ejaculation.
  • Extensive, one on one sexual training to assist and offer appropriate remedies and solve ejaculatory issues.

FAQ

Actually, ejaculation is something that you can control. You can learn to control your ejaculation in the same way that we all learn bladder control (Toilet Training) when we are children. Like bladder control, once you learn to control your ejaculation, you are unlikely to forget.

Some patients with premature ejaculation actually have an oversensitive glans penis or head of the penis. It is mostly through stimulation of the head of the penis that we ejaculate. Men with an oversensitive head of the penis will ejaculate with very little stimulation. They have what is called a low ejaculatory threshold.

More patients who have suffered from PE for a long time eventually develop erection problems than those who can actually control their ejaculation.

While you are making love, you are often worried that ejaculation may occur. This makes it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. Also, your partner may not be getting the most out of her sex life, and may avoid lovemaking for this very reason.

Any problem that affects your self-image can have a negative impact on your confidence and ability to socialize. Men who learn to control their ejaculation often become more confident and more outgoing.
